Mid-Winter MTB holiday in Tropical North Queensland

Reef to Reef is an MTB stage race taking place over four days from 17-20 August 2023 in the heart of Tropical North Queensland.

Starting on the reef-fringed Coral Sea coast it quickly heads inland across a network of trails through tablelands, hinterland, farm lands, MTB parks, and tropical rainforest before finishing back at the coast four days and 190 km’s later. Each day’s stage has its own unique terrain and character to keep things interesting with a mix of fast flowing single trail, farm track, groomed downhill trails and fire trails – many through private land that can only be ridden while racing the Reef to Reef.

There’s nothing too technical but enough to get your attention, including 2525m of vertical climbing. Achievable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and MTB skills.

Australia’s largest MTB Stage Race

Cape to Cape is Australia’s largest and most popular four day MTB stage race, held from 19-22 October 2023. Based in Margaret River Western Australia, this iconic riding experience includes access to stunning private trails, vineyard visits, brewery finishes and some of the warmest hospitality the region has to offer.

Starting at Cape Leeuwin lighthouse and finishing four days later up at Cape Naturaliste, the course makes its way through a network of trails along the coast, through National Parks, forest, farm lands, mountain bike parks, and bush before heading up to the northern cape of the South West WA region.

Roughly 200km and 2,500m of climbing in total, each day’s riding is between 34km and 59km and has its own special terrain and environment to keep things interesting with a mix of fast flowing single trail, farm tracks, groomed downhill trails and fire trails – many through private land that can only be ridden while racing the Cape to Cape.

In 2023 Cape to Cape celebrates 15 years of this iconic event, from humble beginnings to Australia’s largest MTB Stage Race. Join us in the South West of WA for epic fun trails, good times with good mates and a few cold beers while you’re at it, and in the afternoons enjoy the renowned wine regions best produce or hit the white sandy beaches.
